L1: Superbowl Sunday!
This year on Superbowl Sunday was looking as if it was going to be a boring one. My boyfriend’s birthday always falls around Superbowl, so his family party is always the big game day. I was scheduled to work all day, which meant I was going to miss the party. Luckily, I wasn’t feeling good at work and got out early enough to make it to their house. All but one party goer were rooting for the New York Giants, due to our extreme hatred for Patriot’s quarterback, Tom Brady. I’m a Bills fan, but since they fell short of making the playoffs for the twelfth straight year, I put money towards football squares to give me an incentive to actually watch the game. I was definitely not interested in the halftime show since I wasn’t born in the 80s, so instead we did cake and presents for my boyfriend. Since we did cake first, we all grabbed our pizza and wings, then all piled onto the couch to watch the second half of the game. We were all glued to the TV, but mostly to see who won the money on the football squares. Towards the end of the game, the played NFL trivia with about twenty questions. The questions were about former players or some of the first Superbowl games. I helped to find the questions the day prior to the big game, so I remembered some of the well enough in order to win. My boyfriend’s mom gives prizes to the top two players, which happened to be me and my boyfriend’s sister, Renee. We each won a Superbowl t-shirt in a Superbowl mug. Just as we ended trivia, the final seconds of the game slowly ticked away to reveal the Giants as the winners, which we were all relieved about. No one can get away talking about Buffalo the way Tom Brady did and get rewarded for it.
